From a full day to five minutes: building an on-site self-consumption offer
How a renewable developer cut on-site self-consumption offer production from a full working day to five minutes, and removed five sales-to-project round trips.
What happened
A renewable developer was spending a full working day on each on-site self-consumption commercial offer, with five round trips on average between sales and project management before a proposal went out. The same offer now takes five minutes, with no round trips, and the sales team went from half its time in the field to ninety per cent.
Why these offers are harder than they look
On-site self-consumption is not utility-scale solar with a smaller nameplate. The decision criterion stops being plant size and becomes the ratio of self-consumption rate to CAPEX. Add counterparty scoring, scenarios with and without a battery, scenarios with and without a cash advance, and a financing choice between debt, a third-party investor and a long-term lease. Every offer is a financial engineering exercise rather than a quote.
The data needed to build one sits in four different places. CAPEX comes from development. Production and self-consumption profiles come from Likewatt or its equivalent. Financial assumptions come from finance. Counterparty information comes from the client. Without something in the middle, assembling a credible offer is tedious and the reason for those five round trips.
What we built
An offer configuration tool. Sales reps build a complete offer without depending on the project team. The tool guides the inputs and produces a structured proposal.
A direct connection to source data. CAPEX is pulled from development automatically. Production and self-consumption data integrate from Likewatt with no re-entry.
Multi-scenario generation. Every offer carries several scenarios at once, with and without battery, with and without cash advance, across financing options, so the customer's configuration is already in the document.
The result
| Before | With Nepsis | |
|---|---|---|
| Time to build an offer | One full day | Five minutes |
| Sales to project round trips | Five on average | None |
| Sales time in the field | 50% | 90% |
| Dependency on the project team | Systematic | None |
| Scenarios per offer | One, manual | Several, automatic |
Before, every offer cost us a full day and intense coordination. Today our sales reps walk into the field with a complete offer in their pocket in under five minutes. It is a radical change of pace.

The time saved is the visible part. What changes the numbers is commercial quality: sharper offers, more field presence, and momentum that survives all the way to signature.
